Colorado

Colorado regulates meth-affected properties through the Department of Public Health and Environment and Board of Health rules. State law now requires a public online database of residential meth-lab properties, but I did not find the live official database page itself.

Checked against official sources on October 4, 2026. Rules and links change; confirm with the office listed before you act.

Colorado statutes require CDPHE to create and publish a public online database of residential meth-lab properties, but I did not find the live official database page.
Seller and landlord disclosure
Under C.R.S. § 38-35.7-103 as summarized by Colorado’s Division of Real Estate, if the seller learns the property was an illegal methamphetamine drug laboratory, remediates it, and receives certificates of compliance, the seller is not required to disclose that past use to a buyer.
Cleanup standard
0.5 µg/100cm2 for habitable areas and 4 µg/100cm2 for non-habitable spaces; screening-level assessments above 0.2 micrograms/100cm² require a preliminary assessment.

What to do next

  1. Check whether the property has been posted locally by the city or county and ask for any consultant report, clearance report, or certificates of compliance.
  2. If testing is needed, use a Colorado state-certified consultant first; cleanup must be done by an independent state-certified contractor.
